Monochromatic Art with Charcoal

In this workshop we will explore charcoal as a medium of drawing. It is a very expressive, a bit messy, (therapeutic and calming to some) and also a dramatic medium.

In this self-paced session you will learn basic techniques in charcoal drawing and shading that will help in achieving depth and tonal values to complete a realistic drawing.

Materials and reference image will be provided.

“Lily in Garden” is an example of one of my charcoal drawings that shows how tonal values (light and dark) can be used to render a realistic monochromatic drawing.
