No, this is not yet another article about that AI and neither was it prompted to and written by what you think of as AI.
This is beyond AI. What is beyond AI, you may ask. For AI feeds on its own, growing more complex and all encompassing. But believe me, there is an I beyond data.
And that, is your AI. Your Artistic Intelligence. Doesn’t this AI like that AI feed on data, you may ask. Yes. And No. Artistic Intelligence feeds on existing art and life itself just as Artificial Intelligence feeds on existing data, but then like a child born out of the very cells of its parents, every art compounds and evolves into its own persona. A resemblance here and a likeness there, but have no doubt, stamps its own identity like no other.
So what of this AI, this Artistic Intelligence, you may ask, when that other AI can do just that. I can give it a prompt (and even writing that prompt is an art, I say!) of the scene in my head for that AI to draw. Indeed it can. But can it draw out your angst, I ask. Tell me, can it draw out the torment in the depths of your soul, the agony of a lost love, the euphoria of an accomplishment or just the awe and wonder for that strech of colors in the evening sky.
But why, you may ask! Why do we need this AI when we can sit back and relax letting that AI do it all while I sip my cup of tea. I can live without your twisted agony splashed in red and crimson across abstract blue or the in the contortious moves of your bodily frame exuding that agony in every move but I cannot live without my data driven sales or even AI writing my every email.
No you can’t, I say. You won’t, I say. While that AI charts your data driven sales and writes your every email, you will get restless. Your mind will wander. You will pine for that paint that draws out your emotion and long for that move that captures your love. And not only that, this is the only way to survive the AI. For the fundamental purpose of all life forms, the fundamental force behind all evolution is for life to create – itself in other forms.
And it is Artistic Intelligence that will save humanity. Artificial Intelligence may make life easier, more streamlined and bring medical marvels to live longer, but we need to Artistic Intelligence to live fuller. We don’t need a spaceship to Mars, rather explode with creativity before life becomes a farce, and create a new era of renaissance.
