Teachers are one of the most hard working and stressed groups that do not get adequate support.

A study published in the Journal of Mental Health Counseling explored the use of music therapy techniques to address teacher burnout. The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of these interventions in reducing stress and burnout among educators.

This scientific study involved 51 elementary school teachers—25 from a reform-focused school and 26 from a traditional school setting. Participants completed pretest and posttest assessments and were divided into two treatment groups: one receiving a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and music therapy, and the other receiving CBT alone. The findings revealed that teachers who engaged in counseling sessions incorporating music therapy alongside CBT reported lower burnout levels compared to those who received only CBT. The study highlights the potential benefits of integrating music therapy into mental health interventions for educators.
